Job summary

Phoenix Metals Company is seeking a CDL Class A Route Driver out of Tampa, primarily responsible for multi-stop deliveries across the state. Schedule runs Monday through Friday, with early dispatch from 2:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

You will operate heavy trucks, load/unload cargo, and ensure compliance with safety and FMCSA regulations. Responsibilities include performing vehicle inspections, logging activities via ELD, and coordinating with dispatch for delivery details.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A required or able to qualify.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend bills of lading and manifests.
• Basic math and measurement skills for weights and dimensions.
• Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety procedures preferred.
• Ability to meet insurability and drug/alcohol clearance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicle with GVWR over 26,001 lbs.
• Load and unload as required and secure cargo for transport.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections per FMCSA requirements.
• Log daily activities using an electronic logging device (ELD).
• Communicate with dispatch about route and delivery details.
• Read bills of lading and manifests to determine assignment details.
• Adhere to safety procedures and vehicle operation regulations.
