Job summary

SouthernCarlson is hiring a Class A Commercial Driver for a full-time, day-shift role based in Tampa, FL. You'll ensure safe driving, load and deliver to customer sites, and maintain accurate delivery documentation while keeping a high level of service.

The position requires a valid CDL, clean DMV record, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and experience with flatbed trucks, air brakes, and manual transmissions. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL with no restrictions.
• Experience operating vehicles over 26,000 lbs.
• Experience with flatbed trucks, air brake systems, and manual transmissions.
• Clean DMV record and ability to pass DOT background and drug screening.
• Ability to lift 75–100 lbs as part of delivery responsibilities.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Professional appearance and customer-focused attitude.
• Detail-oriented with strong commitment to safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
• Safely load, transport, and unload merchandise at customer locations.
• Plan efficient delivery routes while adjusting for traffic or construction conditions.
• Pull and verify orders to ensure accuracy with delivery manifests.
• Provide professional and courteous service during deliveries.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers to resolve delivery-related issues.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and follow company procedures.
