Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese, Inc. is seeking a Case Packer to operate packaging equipment and ensure products meet customer specifications while adhering to GMP and safety policies.

You will prepare, weigh, load, and package products in a fast-paced dairy production environment. Responsibilities include producing quality checks, communicating with line personnel, maintaining sanitation, and documenting production data.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices.
• Ability to read and prepare production reports and comprehend production worksheets.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Responsibilities

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation.
• Prepare, weigh, carry, load, space product.
• Open and rework product.
• Operate case packer and case erector.
• Troubleshoot, clean, and maintain case packer.
• Perform product change over's utilizing the matrix.
• Review order specs and assemble boxes.
• Review order specs and pack boxes.
• Quality checks to assure product is packaged according to customer specifications on production sheet (price / label / packaging).
• Directly communicate to line personnel on order specs and quality issues.
• Palletize product.
• Disassembly and assembly of equipment.
• Sanitize lines when needed.
• Enter data on production reports.
• Communicate to line personnel on safety issues.
• Productive use of down time.
