Qualifications

• Experience preferred in medical or monitor tech roles.

Responsibilities

• Operates complex cardiac monitoring systems including ECG rhythm screens and dysrhythmia detection.
• Maintains accurate monitoring status during care episodes.
• Records patient rhythm in log as appropriate.
• Verbal reports on pertinent monitor data to colleagues.
• Assists with rhythm interpretation during codes.
• Contacts biomedical engineering when equipment malfunctions.
• Ensures proper operation and upkeep of monitoring equipment.
• Reports to the Manager of Central Monitoring.
• May have additional physical demands or respiratory fit test requirements.
• Views monitor screens up to four hours at a time (up to 8 hours daily).
