Job summary
Career Opportunities is seeking a dedicated Boiler Operator to ensure safe and efficient operation of boilers and related equipment at our Charleston, SC site. The role requires vigilance in monitoring temperatures, pressures, and system performance during the night shift.
The ideal candidate has 2+ years of boiler experience, knowledge of water chemistry, and the ability to respond to emergencies while adhering to OSHA/EPA safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating commercial or industrial boiler systems.
- Knowledge of boiler operation, water chemistry, combustion control and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems and basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read gauges, schematics and operating instructions.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor and adjust boiler systems to maintain prescribed temperatures and pressures.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and inspections on boilers, pumps and valves.
- Record daily readings, maintain logs and report abnormal conditions.
- Diagnose and resolve operational issues and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Conduct water treatment testing and chemical adjustments for efficiency and safety.
