Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Inpatient RN for the night shift to care for patients with behavioral health needs in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting. This full-time role offers a $41.50 minimum hiring rate and up to a $21,500 hiring incentive.

Requirements include 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience (2 years preferred), ACLS/BLS, and PA RN license; BSN preferred. Relocation assistance is available, with 1.0 FTE and every other weekend/holiday, orientation,

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Nursing (Required)
• Bachelor's Degree-Nursing (Preferred)
• 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience required
• 2 years related work experience preferred
• ACLS/BLS Certification and PA RN License required

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to behavioral health, psychiatric, substance use, and emotional crisis patients
• Use evidence-based assessments, de-escalation, and therapeutic communication to ensure safety and stabilization
• Collaborate with ED physicians, psychiatrists, APNs, social workers, case managers, and security to deliver care
• Complete unit-standard assessments including suicide risk assessments and care planning
• Maintain safety protocols, document interventions, and contribute to quality and safety education
