Job summary

Life Center of Galax, part of Acadia Healthcare, seeks a Behavioral Health Associate for the off-campus night-shift team. You will provide compassionate personal care under clinical supervision and help ensure patient safety in a structured environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population preferred.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a sense of urgency related to patient safety and provide excellent customer services.
• Ensure the well-being of patients and provide a positive, supportive and structured environment.
• Conduct safety checks and ensure supervision at 15 minute intervals.
• Document timely, accurate clinical information in the patient’s medical record.
• Assist in providing a safe, secure and comfortable environment for patients, significant others and staff.
• Interact routinely with patients, observe behaviors and communicate with nursing staff.
• May oversee or assist patients with activities of daily living and document vital signs as assigned.
• Facilitate patient educational-rehabilitative groups covering topics like social skills and coping.
• Engage patients in activities designed to achieve treatment goals.
• Complete and maintain required documentation and assist with follow-up on incidents.
