Job summary

Loma Linda University Health is seeking a Behavioral Care Assistant (BCA) for night shifts in California. You will provide basic patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, assist with hygiene, transfers, and safety, and support admissions and discharge procedures.

You will complete an approved CNA program, hold BLS certification, and communicate in English (Spanish preferred). This full-time role supports the Behavioral Health team in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved CNA program or equivalent.
• Six months nursing assistant experience in hospital, ER, or acute psychiatric setting preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Managing Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
• Monitor vital signs and intake/output; report changes.
• Ensure patient safety and perform safety rounds.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed.
• Follow policies; maintain privacy and dignity.
