Job summary

Urban Farmer in Manteno, IL is seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our fast-growing food production team. The role requires hands-on experience with high-performance equipment including VEMAG extruder, Texwrap systems, JDD bagger, and inline pressing systems to support dough processing and packaging.

You will monitor ovens, freezers, and packaging lines, perform routine maintenance, document production data, and uphold GMP and safety standards in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical equipment preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical devices, troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Bilingual is a plus.
• Must have completed GMPs and company food safety programs training.
• Must have good mathematical skills.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate the VEMAG dough portioning extruder to accurately divide and deposit dough, ensuring consistent weights and high-volume productivity.
• Operate the crimper machine to seal pizza snacks with proper fill and tight seals for quality packaging.
• Operate the JDD bagger to package product into bags with proper sealing and coding.
• Operate and monitor the Inline Pressing System, manage line speed, temperature zones, and dough alignment for uniform dough sheets.
• Operate industrial ovens to maintain precise baking temperatures and throughput for high-volume production.
• Operate the freezer system to control product freezing and inventory flow while adhering to safety standards.
• Manage Texwrap packaging systems (wrappers, bundlers, sealers, tunnels) for efficient end-of-line packaging.
• Operate Combi automated case erectors to build cases for end-of-line packaging.
