Stemilt Growers in Old Station, CA is seeking a Night shift Bagging Station Lead to operate and maintain the bagging machine and supervise a crew. The role emphasizes timely, accurate operation and ongoing process improvements.

The position requires a pre-employment drug test, working 3:45 pm–1:00 am, Monday–Friday, with potential variation by production. 6 fulltime year-round openings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to read and understand Stemilt pack schedules.
• Oracle and Discoverer capabilities.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Must be able to read, speak and write English.
• Must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the bagging machine and clean as necessary.
• Learn programs and settings to maximize efficiency.
• Direct crew of 2 to 6 employees packing bags from machine.
• Display excellent communication abilities.
• Maintain pace with production line and keep area clean.
• Know Stemilt fruit grades.
• Strive to improve bagging capabilities of the machine.
• Compile daily data and send to appropriate groups.
• Utilize tools to maximize grower returns.
• Be mechanically inclined.
• May encompass other duties.
