Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of acute care or similar patient setting experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care needs in interprofessional teams.
• Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role including advanced skills.
• Knowledge of personal care and hygiene for quality of life.
• Knowledge of patient risks and safety in healthcare.
• Ability to convey respect and collaborate with patients and families.
• Diversity awareness and effective communication practices.
• BLS certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with the interprofessional team, patient, family, and designated care partners to support care delivery and patient flow.
• Perform direct and indirect patient care activities under licensed supervision.
• Broaden patient care activities and skills per training and department needs.
• Apply critical thinking to changes in patient condition and escalate as needed.
• Support patient safety by following protocols and identifying risks.
• Assist coordination of care activities and patient throughput.
• Maintain certifications and competencies with ongoing skill development.
• Guide and support new team members without supervisory duties.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and readiness of the clinical environment.
• May serve as a virtual safety associate or other support roles as needed.
