Methodist Medical Group in Dallas, TX seeks a nocturnal Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the Critical Care team at Methodist Dallas Medical Center, a Level I trauma center. You will care for high-acuity SICU patients, collaborating with surgery residents, attendings, and the healthcare team.
Requirements include a Master's in Nursing, acute care NP certification, Texas Advanced Practice recognition, and active Texas licensure.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's Degree.
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with acute care certification.
- Board recognition as Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Texas.
- Current Texas licensure to practice as a nurse practitioner.
Responsabilités
- Nightly SICU coverage with in-house surgery attending and residents.
- Respond to trauma activations and implement care plans.
- Coordinate care for decompensating acute care floor patients.
- Adjust ventilator settings and medications as needed.
- Communicate changes in patient conditions to team.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians.
- Place orders for tests, labs, and procedures.
- Coordinate with Neuro, Orthopedic, and Medicine teams.
- Conduct physical assessments and histories of hospitalized patients.
- Order and interpret imaging and labs.
- Educate patients and families about treatment options.
- Maintain medical records per hospital protocols.
