Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• OPOTA certificate and eligibility for Ohio commission.
• Current firearms qualification is required.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license is required.
• Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, conflict resolution and investigative skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team and maintain confidentiality.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Patrols facilities and grounds to help prevent fire, theft and vandalism.
• Makes arrest in collaboration with the agency having jurisdiction where facility is located.
• Helps ensure safety of all employees, patients and visitors throughout the Genesis facilities.
• Appears in court when necessary.
• Documents all security incidents and assists with restraints of combative patients.
• Handles patient valuables storage and return.
• Conducts monthly fire extinguisher checks.
• Conducts quarterly drills per schedule.
• Works with inpatient psychiatric unit for safety and regulatory compliance.
