Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System–Coshocton is seeking a part-time Security Officer/Registration Associate for night shifts. The role protects life and property across Genesis facilities, collaborates with multiple departments, and supports patient and staff safety while adhering to CMS and OSHA regulations.

The ideal candidate holds OPOTA certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, firearms qualification, and a valid Ohio driver’s license, with strong communication and confidentiality skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• OPOTA certification and eligibility for commission in Ohio (with refresher if applicable).
• Current firearms qualification is required.
• Valid Ohio driver's license required.
• Excellent interpersonal, decision-making, facilitation, conflict resolution and investigative skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication to interact with diverse individuals.
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team under pressure.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Patrols facilities and grounds to help prevent fire, theft and vandalism.
• Arrests in collaboration with the appropriate jurisdiction and enforcement of Ohio law.
• Ensure safety of employees, patients and visitors.
• Appear in court when necessary.
• Document security incidents and assist with restraints of combative patients.
• Handle patient valuables storage and return.
• Conduct monthly fire extinguisher checks.
• Conduct quarterly drills.
• Collaborate with inpatient psychiatric unit to ensure safety and comply with CMS/OSHA regulations.
