Job summary

Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital is seeking a Safety Partner to join the Nursing Resource Pool. You will support a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, and agitation, rotating across units as needed.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with training provided if not in health sciences. BLS is required within 90 days of hire, plus de-escalation and intervention training within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; healthcare experience preferred.
• If no health sciences experience, complete Safety Partner Training during orientation.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• De-escalation and physical intervention training within 30 days of hire (15 days for Behavioral Health).

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining a safe hospital environment for patients at risk of suicide, falls, wandering, agitation, self-harm or other risk behaviors.
• Work across various units within the Nursing Resource Pool at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.
• Follow core competencies and safety protocols to support patient safety and care.
