BICO Steel in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Rotary Grinder Operator for the night shift (M-TH 2:30pm - 1AM) with a $2.00 shift premium. This role operates rotary grinding equipment to finish steel components to exact specs, handling structural steel, plate, and fabricated parts while meeting quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has experience in steel grinding or fabrication, reads production orders, and uses precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in steel grinding, machining, or fabrication.
• Ability to read production orders, work instructions, and shop drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and instruments.

Responsibilities

• Operate rotary grinding equipment to finish steel components to spec.
• Perform safety checks, maintenance, and housekeeping in the work area.
• Verify orders, materials, dimensions, and specs before processing.
• Inspect parts for defects and achieve required tolerances.
• Set up equipment, adjust grinding head and magnets for precise results.
• Document production, track labor, and communicate issues to supervisors.
