Job summary

UVM Health - Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital seeks an experienced Patient Care Coordinator (RN) to oversee patient services on their shift, ensuring census management and resources meet staffing needs across all shifts.

This role requires NYS RN licensure, BSN (MS preferred), and strong leadership with excellent communication. Supervisory and critical care experience are valued, with proficiency in healthcare IT systems and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in NYS.
• BSN required; Masters preferred.
• 5 years relevant nursing experience.
• 1-year critical care experience preferred.
• 3 years of supervisory experience required.
• Current BLS certification required. ACLS certification preferred.
• Demonstrates leadership and managerial abilities with good oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills, problem solving skills and decision making within an organizational framework.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Interdisciplinary team work, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, patient-focused care and informatics.
• Lead census management and resource allocation across shifts.
• Coordinate transfers for Patient Care Operations and support hospital services during absence of leadership.
