Job summary

UNC Health Nash Hospitals in North Carolina is seeking a Clinical Nurse to provide competent nursing care in a hospital setting. The nurse reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and coordinates care using the nursing process.

Requirements include graduation from a professional nursing program, NC RN licensure, BLS certification, and at least one year of nursing experience. This is a Per Diem, night-shift, onsite role based in Nash County.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education: identifies learning needs, attends education programs, uses patient education materials.
• Evaluation of Care: identifies expected outcomes, collaborates with interdisciplinary team, communicates for continuity of care.
• Implementation: cares for patients with complex problems, performs bedside testing, follows policies and prioritizes care.
• Leadership: sets goals, contributes to unit goals and performance improvement, promotes collaboration and safe practices.
• Patient Assessment: synthesizes data to determine care priorities, plans discharge needs, supports family advocacy.
• Planning: prepares/update care plan with multidisciplinary resources, considers cultural/ethnic factors.
• Research: reads journals and shares ideas for assessment of applicability
