Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as a Respiratory Practitioner in the state of employment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate respiratory care equipment to diagnose or treat respiratory disease or illness.
• Provide care for adults and geriatric patients 18 years and older.
• Explain treatments and procedures to patients and document education.
• Perform airway management, ventilator setup, monitoring, and weaning per physician orders.
• Record patient responses and update charts and MAR as required.
• Maintain equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure sterility.
• Attend department meetings and participate in quality improvement activities.
