Cayuga Health's Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, NY is seeking a respiratory therapist to join a collaborative care team. You will perform respiratory therapy duties across patient care areas, including mechanical ventilation, ABG acquisition, and patient education, while maintaining documentation and contributing to treatment plans.

The role requires NY licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, active BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications, and the ability to work three 12-hour overnight shifts onsite.

Responsibilities

• Performs all respiratory therapy duties in patient care areas.
• Proficient in mechanical ventilation, NIPPV, patient assessment, tracheostomy care, high flow Oxygen therapy, airway stabilization/maintenance, patient education, ABG acquisition and outpatient respiratory procedures.
• Quickly responds and communicates with nursing and providers regarding changes in patient condition.
• Performs timely and accurate documentation.
• Actively participates in patient treatment plan and supports multidisciplinary team rounds.
• Positive attitude with a patient centered care focus and maintains approachable behavior and acts as a resource to others.
