Idaho licensure and NBRC certification are required, with BLS within 14 days of hire and ACLS/NRP within six months. A PALS credential is preferred for advanced opportunities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a respiratory care program approved by the AMA.
• Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist by the NBRC.
• Idaho Licensed Respiratory Therapist licensure.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• ACLS and NRP within six months of hire and maintained as current.
• PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a program of treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.
• Administer and document medication in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Correctly administer Cardiopulmonary Care Services in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
• Precept employees, new orientates, and students.
• Maintain awareness of environmental conditions and initiate corrective intervention as indicated.
• Maintain a professional relationship with the medical staff.

Education

Completion of a respiratory care program approved by the American Medical Association.
