Job summary

UNC Medical Center’s Respiratory Therapy team is seeking a Respiratory Therapist II for the night shift at the Chapel Hill campus. Under department management, you will deliver advanced respiratory care, including airway management, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapies, and procedures to assess and stabilize patients.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program, NBRC certification (RRT required; CRT may qualify with demonstrated expertise), and at

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• NBRC certification required (RRT); CRT may qualify with demonstrated proficiency.
• Maintain NBRC certifications as required by certifying body.

Responsibilities

• Administers standard respiratory care including aerosol delivery, oxygen therapy, arterial punctures, and basic bedside pulmonary function testing.
• Provides airway management including tracheostomy care, tube changes, intubations and extubations; may perform PFT as needed.
• May be on-call days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Maintains and improves knowledge; works independently with minimal supervision; serves as a resource to staff.
