Job summary

Bridgeport Hospital, part of Yale New Haven Health, seeks a Respiratory Therapist – Airway Management to support the care team. The RT will manage airway during ECT treatments, assess airway status, and contribute to quality improvement within the patient care team.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care program, CT RCP license, and NBRC registration. Two years of critical care experience is preferred, with ACLS/BLS/NRP certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited program of Respiratory Care; NBRC Registration required
• State of Connecticut license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) required

Responsibilities

• Functions efficiently in airway management and assesses airway status.
• Documents services, patient status, and therapeutic objectives.
• Communicates clearly with coworkers and attends to handoffs.
• Gives patient reports during handoffs and facilitates safe transitions.
• Maintains clinical competency through continuing education and professional growth.
