Job summary

Rhode Island Hospital in Providence is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to deliver clinical care across neonatal to adult patients under the supervision of respiratory care management. The successful candidate will perform assessments, initiate and modify therapies, and ensure equipment is maintained.

Candidates must have an Associate degree in an AMA-approved program, Rhode Island licensure, NBRC registration, and BLS certification, with a minimum of one year of experience.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in an AMA-approved respiratory therapy program.
• Must be licensed by the State of Rhode Island as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered as a respiratory therapist through NBRC.
• Required BLS certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, assesses and performs prescribed clinical procedures and therapy by order of a licensed medical provider in compliance with department policies and procedures.
• Analyses and evaluates clinical patient data to determine the appropriate therapy or intervention and offers recommendations on patient care to the medical staff.
• Maintains equipment used in respiratory care modalities and ensures safety and sterility.
