Job summary

The Cayuga Health System is seeking a Residential Counselor for full-time night shifts at Cayuga Addition Recovery Services in Trumansburg, NY. You will assist with admissions and discharges, ensure safe checks, and orient clients to the program while maintaining a secure environment.

Demonstrated interpersonal skills, crisis intervention abilities, and teamwork are essential as you help clients adjust to the milieu and complete daily paperwork and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School degree and one-year relevant experience.
• Basic understanding of addiction and recovery issues.
• Associates or Bachelor's in SUD, human services, or related field preferred; CASAC-T encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist admissions and discharge with safety checks and orientation.
• Maintain a safe, substance-free community and enforce rules with empathy.
• Document daily activities, and support clients adapting to program structure.
• Model pro-social behavior; identify teachable moments for clients.
• Collaborate as a professional, team-focused member of the unit.
