Job summary

AFL in Duncan, SC is hiring a Process Technician I to support, maintain, and improve production lines. You will apply technical skills to establish process setup parameters, train operators, conduct product trials, maintain tooling, and implement improvements.

This role requires an associate degree in mechanical engineering technology or equivalent, 1–5 years manufacturing experience, and willingness to work off‑shift or weekends on a 2-2-3 night schedule.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent; full‑time availability.
  • 1–5 years of manufacturing experience; those with extensive manufacturing backgrounds considered.
  • Willingness to support off‑shift and/or weekend operations with minimal notice.
  • Strong analytical, math, mechanical and communications skills; EHS and ISO 9001 knowledge helpful.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Oracle R12 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily process and quality support for assigned production lines, investigate issues and initiate corrective actions.
  • Select, design, modify, and maintain tooling, fixtures, and equipment to improve safety, quality and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain training documentation related to process setups and tooling maintenance.
  • Provide training to operators to ensure procedures are followed.
  • Support new product industrialization and initial production runs to meet specs and targets.
  • Interact with customers on technical topics and resolve process‑related complaints.
  • Work with internal and external suppliers to execute projects and improve processes.
  • Support objectives to increase productivity, reduce waste, improve quality and safety.
  • Participate in cross‑functional teams to achieve targets on time and budget.
  • Adhere to AFL environmental, health & safety policies.
