YESCO, North America’s largest sign company, seeks a Permit Specialist I for the Sacramento area. In this part-time role you will research municipal sign codes, prepare and submit permit applications, and coordinate with city/county offices to keep projects compliant and on schedule.

You will support sales and project teams with code guidance, track permit statuses, and maintain records. Strong communication and organization are essential to ensure timely approvals and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 6 months of permitting, clerical, or municipal experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with local government processes is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Office systems.
• Ability to interpret basic municipal codes and write concise application materials.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

General Purpose

The Permit Specialist I supports sales and project management teams by researching sign codes, preparing permit applications, and communicating with local government entities. This role helps ensure compliance with municipal codes and supports successful sign installations by facilitating the permitting process from start to finish.

A Day in the Life

As a Permit Specialist I, your day includes reviewing local sign ordinances, preparing basic permit applications, and submitting them to city or county offices. You’ll support account executives with code guidance and attend public meetings when necessary. You’ll also track permit statuses and update internal teams as jobs progress, helping to keep projects on schedule and within code requirements.
