Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency; CNA/NA preferred.
• If working in North Dakota, must register as nursing aide within four months.
• Certified Nursing Aide registration with North Dakota Department of Health preferred.
• BLS certification required within six weeks and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients/residents to and from beds and other areas, and retrieve medical records and other documents as requested.
• Remove/replace medical devices and assist in lifting patients to gurneys or wheelchairs to facilitate transport.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on transportation tools and devices; document and request maintenance as needed; comply with health, safety and security policies.
• May transport linens, specimens, possessions, and assist in discharge processing of inpatient/resident rooms.
