Job summary

North Shore Steel is seeking a motivated Material Handler – Crane Operator for the night shift in Houston. You will support Machining Operators with material handling, production prep, and workflow coordination in a fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to learn manufacturing processes and equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspection of pendulum control unit, wire ropes and other equipment.
• Identify material and verify heat numbers; determine weight and use crane with appropriate capacity.
• Load, unload, stage, and move raw materials and finished products safely.
• Assist riggers in securing material on crane and maintain safe operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and report deficiencies.
