Night Operations Assistant Store Manager

Position Purpose
Assistant Store Managers (ASMs) report to the Store Manager (SM) and are responsible for managing store associates, sales, customer service, safety standards, product availability, store appearance, and profitability of a retail store. Each ASM has direct responsibility for a specific area of the store: Operations, Night Operations, Merchandising, or Specialty. ASMs collaborate with associates to ensure they have the knowledge to assist customers, perform processes, and meet expectations. They exercise judgment and discretion alone, and with the Store Manager and other leaders, in daily store operations. Night Operations Assistant Managers (NOASMs) oversee overnight freight operations, working with Night Replenishment Managers to handle unload, pack out, and pack down processes. They partner with the SM and other ASMs to develop strategies to drive sales and profitability, manage direct reports, and ensure smooth operations. NOASMs direct associates on priorities, coach regularly, and ensure they are knowledgeable of freight processes. They make employment decisions, lead by example, and deliver consistent results in sales, service, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. 20% - On Shelf Availability: Oversee freight handling, manage inventory accuracy, and ensure efficient pack out and pack down processes. Communicate freight flow issues and develop solutions.
2. 25% - People: Assist in recruitment, evaluate performance, coach associates, and support talent development. Ensure compliance with policies and promote engagement.
3. 15% - Safety: Enforce safety policies, complete safety training, and correct hazards. Educate associates on proper procedures and recognize safe behaviors.
4. 15% - Sales & Productivity: Leverage sales opportunities, analyze reports, and address customer concerns to meet sales goals.
5. 10% - Shared Manager On Duty: Perform MOD duties, conduct store walks, ensure equipment functionality, and manage staffing.
6. 15% - Store Appearance: Maintain cleanliness, organize merchandise, and ensure signage and pricing are accurate.
