Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Biloxi is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to lead patient care across units. You will supervise nursing staff, ensure policy compliance, and support the Director of Nursing in delivering safe, compassionate psychiatric care.

Responsibilities include rounds, staffing planning, incident reporting, documentation, education, and collaboration with medical and administrative teams. Requires ADN, active RN license, 3+ years in psychiatric RN, and de-escalation skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum Associates Degree in Nursing.
• Current RN license in resident state.
• Minimum of 3 years Registered Nursing experience.
• Psychiatric nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient care requirements on each unit by making rounds.
• Ensure departmental staffing plans are implemented appropriately.
• Serve as a resource to staff for solving clinical problems.
• Assist staff to utilize staffing and resources to meet patient care requirements.
• Provide timely incident reporting and communication to management.
• Respond to emergencies and assist as necessary.
• Identify and solve administrative/operational problems.
• Interpret and ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
• Report significant incidents to administrator or DON/Nurse Manager.
• Provide feedback to staff and assist with performance evaluations.
• Identify continuing education needs for staff with DON/Nurse Manager.
• Provide education, remediation, and assessment of skills competencies.
