Job summary

Penn State Health - St Joseph Medical Group in Reading, PA seeks a Nurse Practitioner Hospitalist for night shifts. The NP will diagnose, treat, and manage hospitalized patients, order tests, and may prescribe medications within a hospitalist setting.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Nursing, active NP license in the state, BLS and ACLS. Hospitalist or acute care experience is preferred; full-time position with 7P-7A shifts (7 on/7 off) may apply.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing and current NP license in the state of employment.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Hospitalist/acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses independently or with a healthcare team.
• Order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as labs and x-rays.
• Provide care of hospitalized patients with full oversight during shifts.
• Prescribe medications as appropriate.
