Job summary

DESC is seeking a Crisis Outreach Shift Supervisor to lead mobile crisis teams in King County. You will supervise in the field, ensure timely crisis response, and maintain compliant documentation and training adherence.

The role requires independent assessments, collaboration with Crisis Connections, and strong communication while coordinating schedules, staffing, and safety for a field-based team.

Qualifications

• Eligible for AAC credential to act as Mental Health Professional.
• 1+ years' experience in community-based behavioral health.
• Experience with homelessness, mental illness, or substance use disorders.
• Valid Washington driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• Complete DESC Crisis Response and Prevention training and 8-hour CIT.
• Must pass Washington State criminal background check.
• Knowledge of Recovery Principles and Crisis Intervention.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
• Willing to provide community outreach in King County.

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift supervision and dispatch with Crisis Connections.
• Co-lead day-to-day operations of assigned shift.
• Dispatch outreaches and participate in required team meetings.
• Provide 1:1 supervision with supervisees 2x/month.
• Coordinate day-to-day schedule and PTO management.
• Maintain staffing model and scheduling.
• Monitor vehicle safety and driver compliance.
• Ensure DESC policies and procedures are followed.
• Provide clinical supervision and maintain confidential files.
• Understand and apply the union agreement requirements.
• Provide clinical consultation for psychiatric, housing needs and advocacy.
• Promote DESC values, crisis intervention, and de-escalation.
• Develop crisis outreach skills and proper documentation practices.
• Assist in hiring processes and staffing.
