Job summary

Minden Medical Center in Louisiana is seeking a Mental Health Tech for the 7 PM–7 AM shift. You will work with the nursing team to provide direct patient care, assist with activities of daily living, observe patient status, and support nutrition needs in coordination with nurses.

The role emphasizes therapeutic communication, de-escalation techniques, and keeping clear documentation, with rotating weekends and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Previous work experience with psychiatric and/or geriatric patients preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Support group activities as directed.
• Observe patient status and environmental changes; communicate to licensed staff.
• Help with nutrition needs in coordination with nurses.
• Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques when needed.
• Complete basic clerical tasks as indicated.
