Job summary

Peaceful Pines Senior Living is seeking a Medication Aide to administer prescribed medications and assist residents in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care. You will support daily living activities with compassion and respect, documenting care and coordinating with nursing staff to ensure safety and quality of life.

The role emphasizes person-centered care, dementia-informed techniques, and collaboration with culinary and life enrichment teams to enhance the resident experience.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in South Dakota as a Medication Aide or willing to complete on-the-job training.
• Passion for working with seniors and/or caring for others.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Dependable, team-oriented and service-minded.
• Ability to provide care with patience, empathy and attention to detail.
• Must submit to a TB test and follow safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a Registered Nurse according to state regulations.
• Ensure safe, accurate and timely medication delivery.
• Monitor residents for medication effects and side effects.
• Communicate medication-related concerns to nursing leadership.
• Coordinate with nursing staff for continuity of care and medication management.
• Document medication administration and care activities in MAR and systems.
• Maintain secure storage of medications per regulations.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (eating, bathing, dressing, mobility).
• Provide hydration, snacks, and assistance with feeding as needed.
• Support resident safety, dignity, independence, and preferences.
• Respond to call lights promptly and engage residents in meaningful activities.
• Document outcomes and changes in resident condition; communicate changes promptly.
