Akron Children's is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support under a provider and licensed nurse. The role involves patient prep, vital signs, phlebotomy as needed, and EPIC documentation.

The position requires medical terminology knowledge, a Medical Assistant program, and BLS certification. Phlebotomy experience is preferred, and familiarity with EPIC is a plus. Night shift, onsite and 24 hours per week.

Competenze

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic program is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Mansioni

• Prepare patients for examination and record vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy as needed and assist with medications per policy.
• Collect, process, and submit laboratory specimens per procedure.
• Communicate patient findings to provider or nurse.
• Document care accurately in EPIC system.
• Schedule appointments and handle front-desk tasks as needed.
• Perform department-specific clinical duties (POCT, hearing/vision screenings).
• Handle routine office tasks (faxing, copying, filing).
• Prepare and stock examination rooms; maintain a clean environment.
• Build positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Follow safety policies to ensure patient safety.
• Complete any other assigned duties.
