Job Title: Night Lead Custodian - Edgar Road Elementary

Primary Objective: To provide leadership and operational support to ensure a safe, attractive, efficient, and clean facility for visitors and staff. Responsible for supervising custodians during an assigned shift, providing direction, training, support, and inspection to maintain team engagement and motivation.

Essential Functions

1. Perform general custodial duties, interior and exterior, following established practices:

• Sweep, scrub, mop, and wax floors
• Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, and metalwork
• Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealers and finishes
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets
• Empty and clean waste receptacles
• Clean restrooms, cafeteria, gyms, halls, and classrooms
• Wash walls, windows, and equipment
• Sweep and wash walkways
• Replace light bulbs and clean blinds
• Assist in moving and arranging furniture

Lead other custodians in their duties

Set up for night meetings, school events, conferences, and functions

Dispose of trash daily and maintain grounds cleanliness

Handle and dispose of hazardous materials appropriately

Perform minor maintenance tasks such as installing dispensers and tightening screws

Assist with snow removal as needed, including after-hours and weekend calls

Operate and maintain assigned equipment and tools for cleaning and maintenance

Secure buildings by locking and unlocking as needed

Perform other duties as assigned
