Job summary

The Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist Nights at Physicians Regional Healthcare System provides supportive laboratory duties including phlebotomy, specimen processing, and QA activities to ensure timely patient care in Naples.

This role requires 1–2 years of healthcare lab exposure, completion of a phlebotomy program or equivalent, and adherence to HIPAA and safety standards; night shift schedule is included.

Qualifications

• Completion of a laboratory assistant training or phlebotomy program required.
• 1-2 years in a laboratory, healthcare, or clinical setting preferred.
• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years experience with specimen processing, laboratory equipment, and quality control procedures required.

Responsibilities

• Assist laboratory staff in performing routine tests following proper lab protocols.
• Prepare and process specimens with proper labeling, storage, and transport.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and assist with QC/QA tasks.
• Perform finger sticks, venipunctures and heel sticks on patients of all ages.
• Ensure safety, infection control, HIPAA compliance, and proper handling of materials.
• Log procedures and specimen information into LIS/EMR with accuracy.
• Stock laboratory supplies and maintain inventory.
• Maintain clean, organized lab spaces and comply with policies.
