Job summary

The Save Mart Companies in San Jose, CA is seeking a Multi-Purpose Clerk - Grocery (Night Crew) to stock shelves, price items, unload shipments and keep areas clean during the overnight shift.

We require a High School diploma or GED, excellent customer service, and the ability to work with urgency. The role is on-site with flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and involves lifting heavy items as part of daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work with a sense of urgency and self-motivation.
• English reading/writing/speaking proficient.

Responsibilities

• Receive, stock, display, pricing and face product.
• Break down loads including unwrapping, rotating and packing boxes
• Order writing, item to tag integrity
• Report all risks or safety issues to management
• Ensure proper temperature in cases/coolers
• Maintain inventory accuracy
• Minimal checking on cash register.
• Sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas.
• Know location of MSDS binder and information about all materials used during work
• May operate forklift if authorized and certified.
• May operate commercial baler if authorized to compress cardboard.
• Perform other duties as assigned
