Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.
• Retail experience (preferred).
• Second language (spoken, read, or written) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products in the department and store.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions; make suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items to customers and inform them of specials.
• Check product quality for freshness and review dates; take appropriate action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and provide fresh products as ordered.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude and stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and ensure proper temperatures and temperature logs.
• Support safety programs and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and report items needing repair.
