Job summary

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking an Operator, Extruder 1 in Lafayette, IN. The role involves setting up and operating extrusion lines, ensuring wire size, insulation thickness, and print quality while following safety procedures. The position requires a high school diploma and ability to lift up to 45 lbs, with English as the working language.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Must be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods.
• Must be able to read and comprehend production orders and instrumentation on complex equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate extrusion line and related equipment with correct tip and die and wire size.
• Maintain correct wire size, insulation thickness and concentricity.
• Ensure print quality on cable meets standards.
• Follow Southwire safety rules and keep work area clean.
• Manage scrap and inventory of WIP tags daily.
