Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, preferred.
• Previous hospital housekeeping experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow departmental policies for safe handling and use of cleaning/disinfecting chemicals and equipment.
• Stock and maintain the EVS supply cart/closet at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, restrooms, corridors, and other areas per schedule.
• Perform discharge/terminal cleaning and enhanced cleaning for isolation rooms as assigned.
• Dispose of trash, linen, and waste per hospital policy.
• Replenish disposable items like soap, paper towels, toilet paper, gloves, and sanitizer.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and furniture per unit workflow and EVS procedures.
• Respond to calls for service including spills and room Turnarounds; use wet-floor signage and safety protocols.
• Dust and spot-clean high/low surfaces and touchpoints to reduce infection risk.
• Use PPE and follow required precautions.
• Document and close tasks using tracking system; communicate status updates.
• Provide positive customer service while maintaining patient privacy.
