Job summary

IU Health in Indianapolis seeks a full-time Night shift patient care assistant to support the Emergency Department team, providing essential nursing support for both critical and stable patients.

You will take and record vital signs, transport patients, stock and clean care areas, and assist in operating department equipment under supervision.

High school diploma or GED is required; BLS through the AHA is required, EMT or PCA certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of routine patient care procedures.
• Familiarity with standard medical equipment and supplies.
• Basic understanding of infection control.
• Knowledge of EMTALA.

Responsibilities

• Performs both special and routine patient care procedures in the Emergency Department.
• Transports stable monitored and non-monitored patients.
• Takes and records patient's vital signs.
• Stocks and cleans patient care and supply areas.
• Assists in the operation of various equipment.
