Job summary

Dayton Freight Lines seeks a Dispatch Assistant for the 12:00 AM - 5:30 AM shift. You will assist the Service Center and Operations Managers, support drivers, and prepare bills of lading and delivery receipts to ensure on-time shipments.

The role requires strong MS Office skills, fast typing, excellent communication, and readiness for a second shift in a busy, people-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and skillful in Microsoft Office Programs.
• Excellent keyboarding skills.
• Has worked in a fast paced environment and has an excellent attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Available to work a 2nd shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch Assistants are responsible for satisfying customers by providing consistent and reliable on time pick-up and delivery of shipments.
• Assisting the Service Center Manager, Operations Manager and/or Supervisors
• Providing assistance to Drivers
• Preparing bills of lading and delivery receipts
• Maintaining excellent communication with external and internal customers as well as interline companies
• May be asked to assist with: Data entry
• Answering phones
• Freight reports
• Driver collect reports
• Billing and filling
