Dayton Freight Lines is seeking a Transportation Dispatch Assistant in Dayton, OH to support Transportation Coordinators and Drivers and ensure shipments reach destinations on time. You will execute driver plans, assist with issues, and communicate across teams in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates have a background in transportation or logistics, strong planning skills, and excellent communication, with availability for 2nd or 3rd shifts in a professional, people-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Background in transportation, logistics coordinating, dispatching or in LTL operations.
• Excellent planning capabilities in a fast paced environment.
• Professional and courteous communicator.

Responsibilities

• Accurately fulfill the plans developed by Transportation Coordinators
• Provide support to Drivers in order to deliver shipments to their destination in a timely manner
• Assist Drivers with equipment breakdowns, spills and inquiries associated with the operation
• Process phone calls from Drivers and Service Centers in a professional and timely manner
• Understand dispatch management software to execute the planning of Driver assignments
• Maintain excellent communication with internal customers
• Continuously look for opportunities to improve processes
