- Previous Diesel Mechanic experience preferred but not required
Job Description
Repairs and maintains equipment.
Essential Duties
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on engines/machinery
- Troubleshoot and repair transmissions, differentials, carburetors, distributors, fuel pumps, injectors, steering systems, starters, generators, universal joints, hydraulic systems, pumps, and valves
- Install and adjust brakes, batteries, tires, safety devices, hydraulic hoses, and fittings; overhaul equipment as needed
- Inspect equipment for deficiencies and make routine adjustments; secure tools, parts, and equipment
- Recommend outsourcing repairs; provide road service to fleet vehicles and grounds equipment
- Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
- Communicate with shop foreman
- Maintain and secure work tools
- Clean and maintain work area
- Turn off and lock equipment when not in use
- Operate power tools following safety policies
- Wear prescribed personal protective equipment
- Follow safety policies and participate in safety training
- Report accidents and near misses immediately
- Comply with all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain regular and timely attendance
