Job summary

Cash-Wa Distributing in Kearney, NE is hiring a Full-Time Night Shift Fleet Mechanic to keep trucks and trailers on the road for early morning routes.

You will perform routine servicing, brake work, and repairs, diagnose issues using manuals and diagrams, and test drive equipment as needed. CDL preferred, valid license, and ability to lift up to 100 lbs are required. Join a growing team with on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience performing repair and maintenance on heavy trucks and diesel engines.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred
• Basic computer skills and ability to use manuals and diagrams
• Must possess necessary tools

Job Location: Cash-Wa Kearney - Kearney, NE 68845

Position Type: Full Time

Job Shift: Night

Work in a small, but expanding fast-moving team environment with a short turnaround time for getting trucks and trailers ready for the next morning's routes. Duties performed by the team include basic servicing to maintain the equipment, performing brake jobs, doing trailer repairs, clutch adjustments and repairs, cooling system repairs, and more. Internal, on-the-job training is done to help improve the team, and additional

Night Shift: Sun - Thurs Nights; 6pm - 5am, averaging 50-55 hours/week

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Repairing and maintenance of fleet vehicles, ensuring meets safety and performance requirements.
• Servicing of fleet vehicle per required schedules
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues and make necessary repairs, adjustments or replacements.
• Performing roadside repairs and adjustments
• Performing routine housekeeping duties to ensure working location and equipment are in order and not pose safety hazards
• Ensuring the safety devices on vehicles are in good order
• Other duties as necessary

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 100lbs
• Regularly performing work requiring standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas

Other Requirements:

• 1 year of experience performing repair and maintenance on heavy trucks and diesel engine vehicles, equipment and related components is preferred
• Ability to use repair manuals, online services, wiring (electrical) diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot or repair vehicle or component failure.
• Valid driver's license, CDL preferred, for roadside assistance help and to test drive equipment as necessary
• Good driving record
• Basic computer skillsMust possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks
