Job summary

MercyOne Medical Group in Des Moines, IA seeks a full-time Radiologic Technologist for night shift. You will perform diagnostic imaging, operate imaging equipment, and rotate through surgery cases to maintain level III proficiency.

You will educate patients and families, ensure safety and cleanliness, and uphold department standards; Iowa permit to practice and BLS are required or obtained within three months of hire.

Qualifications

• Accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program completed.
• Registry eligible or Registered Radiologic Technologist; maintain active registry status.
• Maintains current Iowa Permit to Practice
• Participates in professional society (ISRT or SCD)
• BLS certified or obtained within three (3) months of hire
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire

Responsibilities

• Performs Diagnostic Imaging procedures on scheduled shifts including operating imaging equipment.
• Rotates regularly through surgery cases to attain level III status.
• Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems.
• Demonstrates proficiency in performing all exams according to protocol. Maintains the physical environment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner.
• Operates equipment in a safe and efficient manner, reporting any malfunctions to manager/Bio-med
