Job summary

JR Metal Works is seeking a Nights II Deburring Technician to prepare fabricated metal parts for production. You will perform manual deburring, sanding, and finishing, while operating Timesavers equipment for larger parts, ensuring quality and safety during night shift hours.

The role requires attention to detail, the ability to read blueprints, and adherence to production procedures. Night shift runs 5 PM–5 AM Wed-Fri, with overtime and day-shift training as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in manufacturing, metal fabrication, finishing, deburring, sanding, grinding, or a related environment preferred.
• Experience operating Timesavers or similar wide-belt sanding/ finishing equipment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize differences in surface finish and edge quality.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual deburring, sanding, grinding, and finishing of fabricated metal parts using hand and power tools.
• Operate Timesavers equipment to efficiently sand and finish larger parts and production runs.
• Inspect parts for sharp edges, burrs, weld spatter, scratches, and other surface imperfections.
• Ensure parts meet established quality and finishing requirements before moving to the next stage of production.
• Select and use appropriate abrasives, sanding materials, and tools based on material type and required finish.
• Follow work instructions, drawings, job travelers, and established production procedures.
• Operate machinery in accordance with work instructions and safety standards, including proper PPE requirements and machine safety practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Learn the JRMW processes involved with the completion of assigned parts.
