Job summary
Estrella Foothills High School in Goodyear, AZ is seeking a Night Custodian to maintain a safe, clean campus. This full-time role covers 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, 40 hours weekly, with benefits starting after 60 days for eligible staff. This position is for a Night custodian at Estrella Foothills High School.
Full Time Position (40 hours); 12 months with benefits; Hours are 3p.m. to 11:30pm
Wage per the Classified Salary Guidelines, the experience will be considered
The position reports directly to the EFHS plant foreman

POSITION SUPERVISION: Plant Foreman
GENERAL STATEMENT OF POSITION’S PURPOSE: To play an integral part in ensuring a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient environment for students to learn and develop.
- Less than a high school diploma
- MSDS and blood born pathogens training

- Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)
- Less than one year experience in custodial work is preferred
- Ability to communicate and work well with staff, parents and children.

- May be required to alter working hours to perform regular assigned duties
- Deliver equipment and supplies
- Cleans restrooms as needed
- Setting-up and taking-down of all school-related activities and events.
- Moves furniture and equipment as needed
- Raises the United States Flag before school and retires the flag after school hours.
- Report’s safety hazards and the need for major and minor repairs.
- Keeps grounds free rubbish.
- Sweeps, vacuums, dusts, and empty trash as needed.
- Cleans corridors, when warranted, during the day.
- Assists the maintenance technician.
- Assists with securing the buildings
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Communicate with Supervisor when problems occur.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
LEVEL OF ACCOUNTABILITY AND AUTHORITY:
- Must use own initiative and judgment in performing job.
- Performs as directed; responsible for own job under direct supervision.
- Completes work with minimum contact with others
- Routine work with little planning needed
- Periodic exposure to hazardous materials such as blood born pathogens, high voltage, gas and heights.
- Sit approximately 0% of the time
- Walk approximately 90% of the time
- Stand approximately 5% of the time
- Kneeling / Stooping approximately 5% of the time
- Lift on a regular basis 30 to 40 lbs.
- Reaching with hands and arms on a regular basis
- Ability to wear respirator and gloves as needed

- The work environment for this position is the normal for any classroom area. With noise levels that vary from low to mid based on the type of tools or equipment being used or worked on at any given time.
